Ojo-Benjamin’s journey began with a degree in Physics with Electronics from Yaba College of Technology in Lagos, Nigeria. This technical foundation would prove essential in shaping his analytical and systemsbased approach to cybersecurity. Early in his career at CocaCola Hellenic Bottling Company, he held several progressive roles, including Manager of IT Risk and Compliance, Senior Manager of Business Systems Security, and Director of Internal Control and Compliance. In these capacities, he laid the groundwork for robust security practices, designed and deployed enterprise-level controls, and aligned security initiatives with corporate governance objectives.

He later joined Torstar Corporation in Toronto, where he played a pivotal role for nearly seven years. Ojo-Benjamin led cross-functional efforts to fortify the organization's cybersecurity posture, first as Senior Manager of IT Risk & Compliance and then as Director of Cyber Security & IT Compliance. His tenure was marked by implementing effective risk mitigation strategies, developing compliance frameworks, and a strong emphasis on integrating cybersecurity into broader business operations. His leadership style emphasized technological solutions, cultural transformation, embedding security awareness and accountability into the corporate DNA.

In 2022, Ojo-Benjamin took on a new challenge as Senior Manager, Emerging Risk & Cybersecurity at Scotiabank (TSX: BNS), one of Canada’s leading financial institutions. In this high-stakes role, he is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating emerging cyber threats across the bank’s global operations. His work helps ensure that Scotiabank remains ahead of the curve in a rapidly shifting threat landscape. By aligning cybersecurity initiatives with business goals, Segun enables innovation while preserving critical information assets' integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

He holds several of the most prestigious credentials in the cybersecurity field, including CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CEH, CHFI, CDPSE, and more. These certifications reflect his deep knowledge in governance, cloud security, ethical hacking, data privacy, and forensic investigation. His expertise spans a wide spectrum—from designing security architectures and managing crisis responses to overseeing third-party risk and driving IT service delivery excellence.
